Thank you for your interest in our Dog Display Team.
We were formed in
1993 as a fun Dog Display Team based in
Darwen Lancashire, on Mondays night we run dog agility classes
with experienced handlers.
We hope the following will answer a few of your
questions and we look forward to meeting you at one of our
training nights.
We offer non-competitive agility training.
As a club we do not enter competition but members have a lot of
fun putting on displays at country shows during the summer.
Agility training for dogs normally starts at around 12 months of
age, depending on the breed of dog.
If your dog is under this age please do come and have a look at
us for the future.
Unfortunately you will not be able to commence agility training
until his/her first birthday.
A reasonable
level of obedience is necessary before a dog can begin
learning agility and we ask that all new members have
obtained a minimum of a
Kennel Club Good Citizen Silver Award or equivalent in
obedience prior to joining the club.
We Start our meetings with a 15
minute basic obedience workout , under the guidance of our
Agility Club Approved Instructor.
Basic
training takes 7 sessions, which are payable advance, please
contact us for further details.
On the night you will need to bring the following:-
For Your Dog:-
Proof of vaccination.
A soft collar for training (Choke Chains are not allowed for
safety reasons).
An extra long leather or fabric lead ( No Chain Link Leads
please).
For You:-
Suitable footwear for wearing on a sand base.
Warm clothing, as it can be extremely cold in winter.
Clickers are not allowed as they distract other dogs.
If you need more information please contact one of the
committee members on our contact page.
Practice nights Monday
evening.
